Our Teachers Matter

Over the last 22 years, we have invested a lot of time and energy to develop the kind of teachers we want to help us fulfill our mission to redefine education and to raise extraordinary leaders. Today we can say with confidence that we have extraordinary teachers... and we don’t want to lose them.

At Colegio Mesoamericano, we consider ourselves the nursery for fostering the growth of extraordinary leaders who can change this country for the better. What makes us different is that we are not sprouting from seeds, we are collecting saplings already proven to weather the storm.

After two decades we are convinced that our teachers are our most valuable assets. Much more important than buildings, computers and programs. Our teachers are also mentors. The great majority of our graduated students point to at least one teacher whose impact on them was so strong that it actually changed their lives. Therein lies the power of teachers!

To provide our children the environment, tools and opportunities that will enable them to explore the world and grow is no small task and it can only be done by the right people. Investing in our project is often not as immediately satisfying as, say, feeding a hungry child. But in the long term we will demonstrate true impact at the community level first and, eventually, throughout the country.

Investing in our teachers is how we accomplish the proverbial “teach a man to fish”.
